If you think Roe v. Wade cannot be overturned, think again. The next president will likely get to appoint a new Supreme Court justice. Conservatives need only one more vote on the Supreme Court to repeal this and other laws protecting women's reproductive rights.
...pitting libs against conservs on the Supreme Court, with the legality of abortion always threatened. prior to Roe v. Wade, when legality of abortion relied on state law, there was a national discourse that was evolving toward rational pro-choice rights that could be protected via legislature in Congress and Senate. but Roe v. Wade halted this discourse and focus shifted to "stack the deck"...

as a social issue, a federal law to protect pro-choice rights is of the same moral validity as those federal laws that prohibit discrimination. but the problem with Roe v Wade is that it was a Supreme Court decision that was not followed up in the legislature, which could have solidified the protection of pro-choice rights. what if Brown v. Board of Education had never been followed up w/ the Civil Rights Act of 1964? Now we are caught in a game of "stack the deck"...
