The Work Sucks Song - (Original)

This song is entirely a work of fiction. It is not about where I work. I love my job. My boss would never do this. Oh no...

I used a Makapili pineapple uke, a Gremlin mandolin and a 3/4 scale P-Bass.

LYRICS:
In my job I am a pleb, the lowest of the low
I'm at the end of the chain of command; I'm just a lowly drone
I get all the rubbish tasks, which no-one wants to do
But this you manage to overlook at my annual review

You take credit for the work I've done, and tell them it was you
You present my ideas as your own, and you think that I don't know
Yet when you do something wrong, it'll always be my fault
And this you'll make sure to note down, when you're writing a report

I know my place, according to you, is answering "Yes, Sir"
And never to question your decisions, or ever cause a stir
My opinion doesn't count, since I'm not as clever as you
Unless you're in a panic and you don't know what to do

Your catchphrase is "can you just?" and then send me some of your work
I dont think it's occurred to you that some things you shouldn't shirk
It's a good job I'm efficient and calm, and always get it complete
And usually with time to spare, it's a super-human feat

You play the "Guardian Angel" trick, and pretend to be my friend
By threatening what the boss will do, if my will I don't bend
The Leader is a nasty man, whose tactics you defend
And worship him hoping that, your own power will extend

What happened when I was off, when you had to do your own?
You called me on my holiday; I should have switched off my phone
Suddenly you realise that I'm worth more than you deemed
I hope that I have finally been entirely redeemed.
