EXTREMELY shaky video of how to do the EASIEST Saturn swap trick. I came across this method while testing out my newly acquired Saturn. Keep in mind that prolonged use of swapping while the drive is spinning may cause damage to your drive motor, but if you're going to swap, this is the best method, as you only need to swap once!

  • This method only works for games that don't force load Eeprom. I generally do 2 swaps because games like dragonforce/ panzer dragooon etc will not work with this method.

  • @IdeonFukkatsu

If you watch the video, I BOOTED Panzer Dragoon with this method.

  • Do you own the Sega Saturn game "Nights into Dreams"?

  • Yep. I reviewed it in my Sega Saturn Console Review video.

  • Works in Sega Saturn model 1?

  • @TG716 dude thankyou for this vid i rented virtua fighter 2 and copied it and this swap worked..... BUT! I then downloaded duke nukem 3d and it did not work. It booted the logos (sega , 3d realms, lobotomy), and the duke nukem nuke logo but after that it just goes blank... I then tried the harder swap method and everything booted the whole game, so i dont know maybe IdeonFukkatsu was right about the Eeprom comment, its still pretty weird eh? :D

  • THIS TRICK DOES NOT LOAD THE TOC. It's the easiest way, agreed, and I was fortunate enough to have the first game I tried work flawlessly, but the next 6 I tried would crash on the title screen. You have to start with the burned game, swap when the laser goes to the outer edge, press reset at the Sega screen, then put the burned game back when it goes white at the Saturn logo. It requires an additional swap but it's just as easy. Or do your poor motor a favor and buy a modchip, it's real easy.

  • Dude, thanks! I actually went out and bought a modded Saturn because I could never get the swap trick to work. That just changed. I swapped out a Japanese Mahjong game for Radiant Silvergun and it worked perfectly.

  • I cant get this to work at all with my model 1 or 2, I have the swap don pat for model 1 but this method doesnt work for any games on my model 2.

  • Thanks for sharing. I should add that this swap trick DOES NOT work on a model 1 Saturn. I just picked one up this weekend, and funny enough, I didn't even notice that it was a model 1 until I was long gone...oops. So, no, your technique doesn't seem to work with the early model, but it does seem to be good for the Model 2 Saturns. Thanks again for sharing!

  • Can you use this to play imports(especially Japanese Sega Saturn that require RAM expansion cartridges?

  • @IdeonFukkatsu i meant panzer dragoon saga. Also it will not load alternate region backups.
