  • @bwaybrat92 Couldn't tell you exactly which effects. I'm a professional a cappella musician and I've personally been part of conversations with N7 in which they've discussed the fact that they use effects extensively. Beyond that, a lot of it is just many years of listening to a cappella music and knowing what different things sound like - sort of like how you can learn to hear compression, digital tuning, etc. The Swingle Singers are pretty dramatically different from N7 in their approach.

  • @anderstw Really? What affects do they use? Are you familiar with recording music? I'm not, which is why I ask. I am, however, familiar with mic techniques since the a cappella group I was in experimented with them. We could never really achieve them, but our goal was to create effects similar to this group and The Swingle Singers. So, tell me, if they didn't accomplish these sounds with technology and not mic techniques, how would you know the difference?

  • @bwaybrat92 Again, sorry to disagree. But they use quite a lot of effects.

  • They don't use effects. They use mic techniques. Just like the Swingle Singers.

  • @GUNGFUism It's all their voices (a cappella), but they use a TON of effects.

  • Yes, but if you hear the unprocessed version, it's not that different. They did one live at LightFM (search the video) that's really good.

  • Theres some auto tune

  • i got the c.d nd went to concert in louisville kentucky and it was fucking awsome
