Esteban announce the release of Shanty Mansion
MUSIC + SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Derby based band Esteban, working together with PLAN UK, have chosen to sponsor Orlin, a boy of 12 from La Paz, Honduras.
100% of the royalties from Shanty Mansion will go directly into an on-going sponsorship program bringing vital community projects to La Paz, where Orlin lives in a house made of mud, where the field nearby is the lavatory and where drinking water is a 1km walk away.
Bassist Ricky tells how the idea came about: “Earlier this year, whilst on tour, I found out that my biological mother is from Guyana. We made contact for the first time since I was born. For a kid raised in Derbyshire, discovering my roots far away was amazing. It led me to think about what we as a band could do with our music to help those less fortunate than us. It's not as if we're rolling in dough ourselves, but I reckon we can make a small difference in people's lives.”
Esteban and their label The Animal Farm have pledged all proceeds from the sales of their exciting new single to the project.
