Kristen Maloney of UCLA (and formerly of Parkettes) on floor exercise, vault, balance beam and uneven bars during the super six of the 2005 NCAA Gymnastics Championships plus some fluff from event finals. Kristen Maloney won the vault title with a double twisting yurchenko and beam. She also became the first NCAA gymnast to perform a full twisting double layout. She missed sharing the AA title with Tasha Schwikert because of a mat issue. She is doing this amazing gymnasts just two years after a bacterial infection ate most of the bone in her tibia.

  • so she was done with parkette's and NOW she does college gymnastics???

  • @16Deathwish Yeah, she went to UCLA right after the Olympics. She's currently a coach at the University of New Hampshire.

  • actually maloney ended up with a 39.625 and schwikert ended up with a 39.725 so if maloney did not get the .1 deduction, they would have been tied for ncaa co-national champion.

  • You're totally right. My bad.

  • @chikako8395 They only showed a small portion of it.

  • Nice Dismount!

  • Kristen's just amazing. She got even BETTER artistically after her elite career. And I am one of the apparent minority that enjoyed her Olympic FX very much.

  • @gymnfanus19972000 Kristen did harder tumbling than some of the elite gymnasts competing today!! :)

  • @16Deathwish not anymore this was back in 2005

  • lovee kristen but why do they make absolutely no mention to the fact that she used to be an international gymnast, AND competed at the Olympics? and that she used to be one of the best tumblers in the world?

  • what was up w.her beam?

  • Great video, thanks for posting! Kristen is such an inspiration in gymnastics and in life.
