This is a video I recorded of an Australian Shepherd Puppy at a Puppy Pet Shop my Boyfriend took me to on my Birthday 04-19-2010. I had alot of fun at that shop, and I liked how it was set up for the most part...But in my opinion, each puppy in their pin should have at least one toy...Especially this one, AND when brought out to play in the play pin, they should have brought out the toy too...Me and my Boyfriend asked to visit it, were left completely alone with it, to the point they couldn't hear us shouting for help, he had to go out and get help and this dog was WAY too much of a handful without a toy. It was a MAJOR biter...It kept attacking us, my boots, his jacket sleeve and not letting go, it was a handful...We had to give it a big enough piece of Papper Towl to get it to not be so agressive to us...Because it needed to redirect that wanting to bite something attitude....And we were told the Shiba Inu was just as 'hyper'. Those puppies were old enough they needed to start being trained, and they weren't...Thus the bad habits...*sigh* Their beautiful dogs though and are a great dog if you TRAIN it though :)
@EnigmaticSilhouette Yes i know, i was just clarifying what i meant by the water thing. :)

@TheJuliastowe Ah I see.
Well, just trying to help...
Didn't say you soak her lol
"It's only to wake her up to try and see what's touching her. Then i give her treats, and hold her close"
Yeah, that's what I meant for you to do.

@EnigmaticSilhouette Well i've tried that, and honestly she sleeps so hard that i have been able to clip her nails while she was sleeping... So stroking her, and talking to her softly...doesn't do anything to wake her up. And i don't soak her in water lol. I use either a spray bottle on her feet. Or i dribble a couple of drops onto her neck. It's only to wake her up to try and see what's touching her. Then i give her treats, and hold her close. :)

@TheJuliastowe I suggest not using water lol...It will just shock her out of it...Better to talk quietly and calmingly to her while gently petting her (try not to start petting abruptly....that will scare her...I've done it with my dog lol) Also giving her lots of praise and hugs will help to make her more ajusted, and let her know your there for her :)

@EnigmaticSilhouette well i'm not so sure about the temperment testing either, but we'll see. And yes she's getting better everyday, but she has some pretty traumatic dreams. I've even had to splash water onto her to wake her up a few times. :( But i'm sure they'll stop after a while.

@TheJuliastowe Ah I see. Well I don't know anything about taking her somewhere for "temperment test" o.O But I'm glad she's doing better and I hope she continues to get better :)

@EnigmaticSilhouette yes i've taken her to the vet twice now. And they told me to get her temperment tested to see. And apparently they can tell if she's been abused or not. So i'm trying to find out where i can get that done. But she's getting better inside, she's house-trained already. And she get's excited when i get home. :)

@TheJuliastowe Wow...It almost sounds like the poor thing was abused or something o.O I'm not sure what you can do to help her. I do suggest taking her to the vet if you haven't though, to make sure she's healthy! That's the most important thing, because you need to know if it's just behavior or health wise. If she's healthy, I'm not sure why she's behaving that way :( I'll have to do some research, and you should too. I'll let you know if I find out anything, and please let me know too.Goodluck

i had somewhat of the same issue but opposite. I adopted a Sheltie puppy from a pet store, and their normally hyper dogs but she was shaking sooo bad. She still doesn't have any energy and i've had her for a few months.
