@JordanPAT the old bastards are just the tip of the iceberg

Oh goodness!
This is truly fascinating and interesting. I didn't know that geisha had anything to do with the "Serve the man, he's boss" and prostituation and stuff. I'm surprised! I thought geisha was something peaceful and beautiful, but this seems plain wrong! Poor girls...

Anyway ,this is full of lie ,isnt it?
Who make this movie ,and why?
When Japanese watch this movie , they will be surprised.
Is this true? For example vergin.
I cant judge. Than almost japanese dont know the fact.

I am Japanese. 31 years old.
Now ,most of Japanese dont know "Geisya".
I have not seen "Geisya" ,too.
Parhaps all my family have not seen "Geisya".
Im very surprised because this is the first time I saw the girl who want to be "Geisya".
After watching this video, you foreign people will have wrong imformation of Japan.
It is so sad but "Geisya" is not important in japanese cuiture.
And "Geisya" is old culture. Now no girl want to be "Geisya".
"Geisya" is brink of a cliff.

It is sad that you have to get a non japanese woman to degrade this video with her comentary especially a much older woman that is obviously jealous of the younger girls

so u saying its ok to get taken advantage as long as ur over 18?

sex aside geisha tradition should be followed to some extent to preserve culture as for the sex aspect unless 18+ it should not be an option
-
Tis their culture.

@alfonsocabron GEISHA ARE NOT PROSTITUTES. And, yes, they make part of the gardians of the japanese culture. Do you think modern japanese continu to learn and apply the traditions on their daily life like does a geiko ?
I'd hate to be a Geisha.....the elegance and dance is beautiful, but the old men....that's just not my cup of tea.

@animezirow Geisha have never been sex workers, they were the celibate alternative to the Oiran who were the courtesans of the day. In fact, the first geisha were men. Geisha girls however, (pronounced gee-sha rather than gey-shah) were prostitutes who served allied troops during the occupation of Japan. These women were not skilled like a real geisha, couldn't sing, dance, perform tea ceremony - all the basic requisites of a true geisha. Of course, the Americans didn't know the difference!
