Evy's POV
The whole drive home Gracie cried for Joe, nothing we did could stop her. She finally stopped at 2am. I was putting her into her cot when Emily woke.
"Mommy, Im sorry I told daddy you love Shane" I smiled at her and sat next to her pulling her onto my lap.
"You did nothing wrong baby, daddy needed to know that" I said as I kissed her cheek. She looked up at me with sadness in her eyes.
"Is Shane gonna be our daddy now?" She had a mixture of emotions on her face; she was hoping I would say yes, but also that I would say no.
"Shane could never replace your daddy baby, but he'll be there for you no matter what. Shane loves you very much; he just wants to be your friend. Are you gonna let him?" she looked up at me and smiled.
"I like Shane mommy... he makes you smile, he doesnt hurt you and he lets us jump on him" she started to giggle "... and hes funny"
"He is funny isnt he" I said as I stroked her hair.
"Will daddy ever be nice again...I... I kind of miss him" she looked down afraid of what I would say.
"Theres nothing wrong with that sweetie, hes your dad, you'll always love him and thats ok" I held her closer.
"But I dont want too, I dont want to love him, hes mean to you and makes you cry... and bleed"
"I know baby, but he wont be doing that anymore and were happy now arent we? We have a nice home, we have grandma, aunt Chloe and aunt Maria and we have Shane, were gonna be just fine baby... and I will be here for you always and no matter what happens and no matter what age you are, youll always be safe right here I tucked her head under my chin and wrapped my arms around her ... "In my arms"
"I love you mommy" she said as she snuggled into my chest.
"I love you too baby" I looked over at Gracie "More than anything"
As I made my way to the living room I couldnt stop thinking about what Emily had gone through, I know I cant protect her from every little thing but Ill never stop trying, my girls are my life and nobody especially Joe are gonna take them away from me. I would die to protect them... from Joe, no matter what I had to do, he wouldnt get them. Shane was asleep on the couch, he looked so peaceful that I didnt want to disturb him. I put a blanket over him and made my way to the door.
"Where do you think youre going?" I look back and see him smirking with open arms. I let out a happy sigh and curl up next to him on the couch. I felt so safe with his arms wrapped around me, I was very relaxed as I listened to his breathing and as I held him tighter, I realised how much I loved him.
I love you, I whispered. He kissed my head I love you too he replied; I lifted my head off his chest and kissed him. He placed his hand on the back of my head and pressed my head closer to his deepening our kiss. My breathing started to get heavy and quick as I fought for breathe but not wanting to stop. I felt wanted again as he ran his hands up and down my body. We sat up and he pulled off his shirt, revealing his amazing chest and abs, I was a little shy though, I had many scars. He saw how nervous I was and looked me in the eyes. He smiled and kissed me.
"No pressure sweetheart" he whispered, that made me fall more in-love with him. Joe never did that, he got it when he wanted it, no matter how much I didnt. I closed my eyes and shook away the tears. Shane pulled me against his chest and wrapped his arms around me. "I will never let him hurt you again, youll always be safe with me, Ill always love you" He said as he kissed my head. Shane, I love you! =) You complete Evy, making her see past her troubles and making her love again! LOVED IT!!! I love Shane so much, he's making her happy and she feel loved again, thats what she deserves! And Joe, well, what Evy says is true, he'll never stop being the father of their kids but Evy can choose whether to be with him or not.
