@shaxmitra so the mink can devastate an ecosystem?
-
hard to imagin they can be friendly.pretty but not what I wanted here,.

@shaxmitra The ferret that I had was hydrophobic. Are most ferrets like that?

Oh and one more thing, escaped mink tend not to live very long either. While it may be true that some may survive and in places have established breeding populations, but on average a captive bread mink will onley last a couple of weeks in the wild. So yeah, as I said, encouraging people to buy alternatives to fur and thus cutting damand for it is a much better course of action. If the farms shut, no more will be bread for fur.

Its hard because to leave them in their cages is to leave them to a short, brutal life awaited by death. But to release them into the wild may cause trouble for the local wildlife, there is HUGE controversy whether or not to cull escaped mink in the UK whare I live as they are blamed for killing voles and other struggling wildlife. The best thing you can do is to encourage the death of the industry, and that way no more will be bourn to suffer in the first place :)

why are you guys talking about releasing all the minks? do you ever think what that means for the wildlife in the near of that farm? that will increase!
-
It is probably because, like wolves, minks aren't really domesticated, just bred for different colors. Ferrets have been domesticated for thousands of years and as a result much more tamed. But I noticed the mink you own are faster than most ferrets, and ferrets are speedy little mustelids.

release them all!

Dude seriously get as much animals out of their cages as you can. FUR FARMS ARE TERRIBLE!
they will sell you a mink if you ask, but it has to be small so it can be tamed. And yes they can be trained like ferrets, the difference is like with dogs(ferrets) and wolws(minks), the jump higher, they are quicker, stronger more intelligent etc. Everything a ferret does a mink does it better. If you steal a baby, please let the other ones out of their cages :) thanks
