Who the hell is saying Geishas were prostitutes? "Oirans" were courtesans who were trained to be high classed entertainers and for sexual prowess. Exclusively marketed towards the wealthy. A "Geisha" is solely an entertainer for the general public.The popularity of the Geisha in the 1700s was what brought an end to the Oiran.Please learn Japanese history properly.Many Japanese have been offended when these two get mixed up.

Am I the only one who first saw the movie, then read the manga, and was like ''WTF where's the ending?!!'' when they finished it??
