[CO] After cop on cop murder suicide, baby Alyssa diagnosed

After Lakewood Colorado Police Officer David O'Shell killed his ex-police officer wife Tiffany and himself, tests came back that their baby Alyssa had a disease that may have led to the accusations of abuse that led to the infants removal from them. Rocky Mountain News reports that police still say the infant was abused. Tiffany's mother though showed a reporter an email from a doctor at the University of Utah Department of Pediatrics, who reviewed Alyssa's x-rays and determined the "fractures are consistent" with spinal muscular atrophy [SMA].

I've known Dave for 6 yrs, having met him at Ft. Hood, we kept in touch off and on throughout the years . He was a good and intellegent man. Some of his favorite things were Star Trek, Rush the Raiders and most of all educating himself. What happened here was a father in pain who was not prepared for this sort of turmoil in his life. He loved his wife and new baby girl. I hate seeing what the media has done to this family. Leave them now in peace as well as friends who loved them.

David was a good man. I went to college with him and he obviously couldn't deal with the idea of someone thinking he could have harmed his daughter. It's so tragic I can't even put it into words.

I hope the family can sue the crap outta Social services, and force those responsible for this crime from their jobs.
