Quick video upload on how to install a M4 S-System battery.

Battery type is a 7cell Mini. Mini type Tamiya plug. 8.4v, 2/3A, 1100mAh.

Note: I will make another one in the future once I get things going, plus a quick overview on the stock M4.

Here's how you install the battery in the handguard, and it depends on how your gun was wired, since there are different types of wires like the one ASGI has on their full metal version, and stock ABS version.

-Pop open the handguard by twisting the screw-like tabs to the unlock position

-Make sure it really gets open, gun obviously needs to be upside down

-Plug the battery in

-Check to see if any wires are higher than the battery when it is placed flat in the well of the barrel.

-If the battery plug is closer to the muzzle end of the gun, position the battery so wires end points in the same direction, likewise on the other end.
-Stuff the wires around the side of the barrel

-Check the wires closest to the delta ring and make sure those go DOWN. Those were the main reasions why my handguard was tight for a while. (I rerouted a good chunk of the wires so they feed to the underside of the barrel (Upper part where the gas tube is if the gun is correctly level, and will try to make a video soon before I start thinking of selling it)

Thanks for your input.

  • I have this gun and was wondering what the barrels inner diameter is, I was thinking about buying a 6.01. I just want to make sure it does not already have one.

  • @UIFRINN

If it's stock, most likely around 6.08mm. For best all around use, find a high quality 6.03 since it's up to par with 6.01. Just try to find high quality barrels like Prometheus/Edgi/KM. But if you're on a budget, just go with a Madbull barrel.

  • Where did you get that battery? I'm looking for a good one For my JG M4 S-System

  • @451Gaara

It's just a standard 8.4v 1100 mAh mini. I got myself another one of these, metal bodied with a mosfet instead of a fuse. Honestly though, for your JG, you're much better off with a 9.6v, it has a much better trigger respone and ROF. If you can, just rewire the front wiring to go outside the handguard for a peq box, or find a small enough battery. I tend to use lipos under 1200mah or so because they will fit.

  • im getting this gun but i dont want to use the stock battery cause i heard it wont last very long and the other choices are intellect NIMH 8.4v 1200 MAH mini battery, intellect NIMH 8.4v 1600 MAH mini battery, tenergy NIMHn8.4v 1400 MAH mini battery, and tenergy NIMH 9.6v 1400 MAH mini battery.........which one should i get...PLEASE help

  • If you're going for longer playing time, get a higher mAh battery, like that Intellect 8.4 1600, most likely it won't be able to fit at all.

Your best bet is the tenergy 9.6v 1400 mAh that you mentioned, hopefully it is in a butterfly configuration.

When I can, I'll try to upload a video on my non-working s-system (sold my old one and bought a new one with metal body, one piece hopup and mosfet) with the nunchuk/butteryfly battery configuration.
