@kirkheads JJ gave the Trek canon a nod of the head regarding Klingons - the original ST:RPG from the 80s gave an explanation for the difference between TOS and NextGen Klingons. Apparently the TOS Klingons were genetic hybrids bred for first contact with humanity by the secretive warlike imperial race Klingons (the ones with the bony foreheads). The masks in Star Trek 11 were a nice touch – shame they deleted the major scenes explaining how Nero and his crew escaped Klingon custody.

@kirkheads why do you mean respecting cannon in respect to Klingons? I believe they could loically have both smooth headed and ridged klingons because of the episode in Enterprise, i'm not sure if every single Klingon ended up with a smooth head, i think it would only be those who caught the virus that was being cured in that episode of Enterprise. However I know it's infinately unlikley but I would love if they did the borg.

@pommeskrieger P.S. the only real problem on hoth was those damn wampas (carnivorous horned yetis) if rura penthe had those...well...even the klingons would have had their hands full cause those beasts are damn nasty

@pommeskrieger hoth is hospitable on the surface, rura penthe is not, its a friggin' death trap compared to hoth :)
