ABOUT DULCINEA:
BIO: I have been actively involved in the fitness industry for about 14 years. I started teaching Group Fitness classes in College at Penn State: Hi/Lo Impact, Step Aerobics, Power Training, Freestyle Jump-rope, Kickboxing, and more. When I moved to Los Angeles in 2000 I started Personal Training as a second job at Bally Total Fitness. I graduated on top of the Bally's PT Fundamentals class, but quickly outgrew the gym trainer atmosphere. I continued to work for Bally's in their Group Exercise department leading fitness classes, but decided to take my Personal Training outside of the gym and start my own business. My training company, A-List Fit, was born in 2002 with the slogan "You are a star, fit the part!" As my reputation for quality training grew so did my client base; and I gave up my "regular" day time office job to focus on the world of fitness. I got truly immersed in the exercise culture by attending Fitness Conventions, Trainer Workshops, studying exercise DVD's, working with my own Personal Trainer, reading Trainer Handbooks, and researching exercises online just so that I could be the best Trainer possible.
In July of 2003 I entered and took fourth place in Ms. Fitness Hollywood competition, about the same time A-List Fit started booming with business. To fill the demand of A-List clients I reached out to other trainers I had worked with at Bally's or knew otherwise and started sub-contracting business through my network of "Quality Personal Trainers." In July of 2004 I attended the IDEA Fit World Trainer Conference in San Diego and learned about Fitness Boot Camps. I was so intrigued by the idea of taking group fitness outside with little to no equipment that I decided to launch my own Boot Camp in Los Angeles as soon as I returned from the seminar. In September of 2004 Boot Camp "Morning Crunch" was born in Hollywood with just one class time that I led from 6-7am on Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Word of the program spread quickly through LA and sooner than later I called upon my Quality Trainers to open other locations around the LA Metro. Today we have 12 locations around Los Angeles, the San Fernando Valley, and SoCal beach areas with multiple morning class times at each location, evening Boot Camps, Monday-Friday classes, Weekend Warrior Boot Camp Special events, Boot Camp fitness retreats, and free group hiking events. We have been the #1 rated Los Angeles Boot Camp for the last 4 years.
Today I am working on a number of other fitness related projects. Of course I am doing the Real Hollywood Trainer show for you on Mondays at 9am PST. In addition, I am working with my sister on Happy Baby Enterprise which focuses on fitness for moms and their babies or children. The "Happy Baby" Workout and "Happy Child" Workout DVDs will be available in June. As always, I manage all the business affairs and PR for Boot Camp "Morning Crunch."
