You're from Belgium, if you speak French you can understand italian easily. I've no problem to understand written French even though I've never studied it. Check it out. The last time I did it, on the right side there were demographic data ("dati demografici") on the right column and you could use a menu to extrapolate the data for the years you need.
Now, does it also say what the rate is for Italians? And what does it say for, say, 1995? What was the rate among immigrants then? I can't find it myself, as I don't speak Italian, and the site English section seems very limite, with no search function. That said, I dare bet that the immigrant fertility rate in 1995 was higher than in 2006.
The point is that the real numbers are indded dramatic. 1.26 (or some points more and less in other countries) instead of the 2.2 required for maintaining the population means a halved population in few decades. If they want to replenish the vacancy with immigrants this implies HUGE problems. Not last violence. I hope not directed toward immigrants. I would prefer (without encouraging anyone) against politicians who promotes immigration and do not enact right family policies.
Unfortunately, the original video has reached its goal with a lot of people including you: spreading panic based on false propaganda, and instilling fear into the hearts of people. The situation is likely to turn out nowhere near as dramatic as people are making it seem: whereas fertility rates have stopped dropping in the West, and have started creeping up again, they are continuing to drop in most Muslim countries, with almost all Muslims societies. The same holds true for Muslims in the west.
The original video's rates were proven to be wrong, so they don't exactly count anymore.
Look, it's pretty simple: nobody is denying that the number of Muslims in western Europe has grown, or is growing. Not me, not the BBC, no-one. Nobody's denying that there are some problems associated with that, that need to be dealt with. What me, and evidently the BBC and most rational people are saying is that the reality is not nearly as dramatic as the original video made it look.
Sure there's contradiction: you cliamed the 1.26 was solely for Italian parents, now you seem to be saying it's for italian and immigrants combined, so what is it? Oh, and sons are boys. Only boys.
I'm sorry but that is NOT a crock of shit, the original video gave a birthrates all in one year, the bbc gave different start years 1995 in the case of italy to show an increase! In uk 25% mothers born abroad at least half asian, then there are second generation muslims, indigenous birthrate is lower than any published figure!

1,26 figli 2,50 stranieri
I see there are many articles about these ISTAT data. For instance on the stranieriinitalia d..o..t.. it website (a pro-immigration site)
ISTAT gives 1.26 children/couple for the whole country (italians plus immigrants) and immigrants have 2.50 per couple.
Hence this means italians only have less than 1.26 children/couple. It's even worse than what I said.
Thanks for making my English better, as well.
