PLEASE READ.......

Thanks in advance for the subscribers, the commenter and the raters!

This is part 2 of a two part series.

This is a model of a building in Fable - Its worth noting that im doing this to show my interviewer and anyone interested in me at Bournemouth University to get into a modeling/Animation course that im trying my hardest to get into.

Because I want to also demonstrate how I can generate finished product from basic concept, I used ONLY the following image as a reference:

http://community.lionhead.com/photos/...

As you can see, I used 3ds max for the modeling and I used hypercam for the app recording.

For those of you hoping to learn something from this in a tutorial sence (I'd advise you to go to htpp://www.tutorialize.com) as almost everything i do is covered on there

the only hotkeys I use are:

W = move
Q = Select
E = Rotate
R = Scale
Alt + W = max/min viewport window F=Front L=Left T=Top

Thanks for watching and let me know what you think and, if you like it, subscribe!

Please rate

Thanks.

  • very nice job on the model. what version of 3ds max would you recommend for a not-so-powerful pc?

  • @funofsk8ing The version makes no difference. Just have a processor over 2Ghz and over 2Gb ram id say... Oh and build your own PC - its potentially thousands cheaper.

  • @RossHildick3D thanks for answering! well unfortunately now i cant afford a new pc so until i can i'll just stick to using blender

  • @funofsk8ing EWWWWW no! lol. dont use blended, it actually teaches you how NOT to model... haha. I dont see how you can run blender and not 3ds max though? :s

  • man i am a modeling student and your work is better than mine, i wish you the best with your career.

  • @Dacurath thankyou very much - you too :)

  • @RossHildick3D well, blender is a smaller, easier and less memory consuming software, and i need to save memory (only have 512 mb) and im already used to it

  • @IIHazard: Thanks and yeah I got in! (yay) and about the edle loops - my intention was never to keep things low poly but as I watch this video back I kept deleting polys and removing loops etc out of habbit, lol, which is why ive ended up with most of my model low-poly and some stupid high-poly parts - I'll try to make my models either one or the other in future! xD

  • Haha nice man I love the reference and looks like your modeling is pretty much right on w/ it ! =) keep up the good work, can't wait to see the finished product !

  • you know, i reckon you could probally work for lionhead
