The official premiere of the richest game show of the 1980s hosted by Jim Lange: The $1,000,000 Chance of a Lifetime, with Betty & Doug taking on Rene & Kevin for the debut match, and the first two puzzles.

RULES OF THE GAME:
One-by-one, partners of the couple play while their spouse sits behind and watches and can't help. Clues are shown to puzzles one at a time, and a right guess earns $25. The puzzle is revealed, and the giant keyboard reveals the letters in play. One letter is not in the puzzle, and that's the Stinger. Pick it, you lose your turn. Every letter put in is $25, and additional clues may be provided. Second round, places switch and every clue and letter is $50. In the third round, couples choose who play while every letter is $100 (not played until the next clip). The couple in the lead wins the game, keeps the money, and goes on to the million dollar round

  • THIS is very fuzzy

  • @monkeyface12323 This is the way I received the episode, sorry

  • I believe the announcer is the voice of "Jeopardy!" himself, Johnny Gilbert.

  • @usa02 He wasn't until later. The voice you hear is a gentleman named Mark Summers, but not the one associated with Double Dare

  • Who is this announcer? We know his first name is Mark, and it ain't Summers. Is it NYSI89 announcer Mark Driscoll?

  • @zachhoran No, that's not Mark Driscoll

  • WCHS in Charleston, WV started airing this show on April 28th until the end of the first season. Also, five weeks after WCHS began running the show they switched from CBS to ABC.

  • Oaklandfan, you mean KRON the NBC station in SF which is no longer affiliated with NBC since 2004?

  • The UK version of this was 'All Clued Up'

  • This is the game show that Jay Stewart ("Let's Make a Deal", "The Joker's Wild", Tic Tac Dough", "Sale of the Century") should have announced.
