In this tutorial, I explain the Cross-Platform Audio Creation Tool 3.0 you receive whenever you install the XNA 4.0 tools. I discuss how to create wave banks, sound banks, categories. I also explain how to load sound files in to the tool, and how to link between different banks. I also discuss how to create Cues so you can play the files while inside the code easier. Finally, I discuss how to build the XACT project so that you can use it in your game.

  • wow, this sounds like alot of work just to set up a sound loop

  • @owensoft You can make the song longer in an audio program. Or use the stand-alone WAV files in XNA instead of using XACT. This is just the way to do this with XACT. The actual creating the loop is just a single check box. The rest of the tutorial was how to use the tool. You can use 100s of files to create one giant XACT project and use that in your game.
