By 1963 Mary Wells was the number 1 female singer in the country, Miss Hitmaker USA was her nick-name when she released a single its was most likely that both sides of the singer would be a hit, "What Love Has Joined Together" was the b-side to "Old Stand-By" in 1963 and it has become one of her most loved songs, it was covered by Syreeta on her first Lp in 1971

She was very young when she recored this. It,s a great song but you can hear the depth and emotions in her later songs as she matured. GREAT LADY.

Years ago, a TV tribute to Smokey featured every Motown group that sang his songs, and some. Towards the end of the show they all sat around a raised platform, with Smokey in the middle, and sang this song to him. Smokey burst into tears! Beautiful!
