Kimba- Jungle Emperor intro

This is the Japanese intro to the ORIGINAL 1965 release of Jungle Emperor in Japan- which came to the US as Kimba the White Lion in 1966. This is the Japanese intro in all it's glory- and if it loads right, we're set. :D

What makes me appreciate this so much is this: This is the first colored anime in Japan. Imagine years of watching cartoons in black and white in your country, and then all of a sudden you get THIS! With vibrant colors and everything! Such is the power of Jungle Emperor- and then some. Enjoy.

なんでディズニーって日本のアニメから丸パクリするのに、パクっ­たって言わないんだろ。

レオだってディズニーのバンビを下敷きにしてるけど、さすがにあ­そこまでパクりキャラ使ってないと思うんだ。

ナディアにしたってそう。

なんで脇役から服装から小物までパクるんだろ。

ナディアだって海底二万里が元になってるけど、原作に出てこずナ­ディアにしか出ていないキャラデザや設定が被るのはおかしいだろ­うに。

そんなにバレないと思ってたのかね。

日本の漫画史を綴る上で欠かせない手塚作品と、これまた日本のア­ニメ史を語る上で外せないEVA の庵野監督が作ったナディアだぜ？

これでマトリックスみたいに「攻殻機動隊」のオマージュですとか­、ガンダムみたいにビームサーベルはスターウォーズのライトセイ­バーのオマージュですとか、ちゃんと元ネタを言ってくれれば、誰­だってこんなに苛々しないのに。

著作権にはうるさいくせに、他人の著作権を侵害してしかも知らん­ぷりするのが許せないわ。

Actually if Walt was alive he'd probably say TLK was made to pay homage to Tezuka or something.

I'm sure if Walt did decide to make the Lion King he would have credited his ideas to Tezuka and not pretened to be totally ignorant of the whole thing.

But it's interesting to see the Bambi reference in this opening ^_^

No, Disney didn't get sued.. Tezuka's family considered it, but decided not to in his memory.. because Tezuka was always a huge fan of Walt Disney and looked up to him.. so out of respect for Tezuka's admiration of Walt Disney, they decided not to persue legal action.

Annnnd the LK famous phrase "The Circle of Life" was first mentioned in a animated film "Land before Time" which came out six years BEFORE LK; also with the talking dead parent int the sky.

Also the "legend of the white Lion" has been prevalent in African folklore since the dawn of man. Ignorance is bliss.
