Written and produced by Jeff Lynne, this song is one of several made for the film Xanadu. It reached #1 in the US charts, the only single beginning with the letter X to do so! This was shortly after ELO released Discovery, but before the Time album. Olivia Newton-John takes over the vocals on this track.

I think this version is better than the later one sung by Jeff Lynne. Both are good but this is more ELO. Strings and synths are here which lack almost completely in the later version.

the movie xanadu ruined the film career of michael beck who was the lead character "swan" in the greatest movie ever "the warriors" fact. he only did some chuck norris texas ranger tv episodes after that. i bet he is pissed his agent said this would be a good idea.
