Former Congressional Representative Tom Andrews, backing the Responsible Plan to End the War in Iraq and introducing Darcy Burner at the Take America Back Conference.
He says it was an "unmitigated disaster." That, of course, is a rhetorical cliche. Regardless, even if the war was a disaster, could we say it was "unmitigated"? Removing genocidal dictator Saddam Hussein, who actively funded terrorist activities in the middle east, doesn't mitigate the "disaster" this war was?
He's saying that the middle east and the world would be better off, in every way, with Saddam Hussein still ruling Iraq.
You're probably right, but I really do think the genocidal crises in Sudan, Rwanda, and Palestine were on a much greater scale than it was in Iraq.
To proclaim that the great nation of America acted on self-less motives to bring balance to the world.... is utter insanity.
