The recent "American Autumn" protests were directly influenced by the middle east protests in both iran and the arab world, egypt, tahir square, along with the worldwide protests that have spread everywhere due to the global recession. I personally drove past this protest, and as similar to what occured in Cairo's Tahir Square, i witnessed chicago police surrounding the sit in camped in protesters in an effort to intimidate them into leaving the park and preventing a camp in. In Bahrain, similar scenes were witnessed in Pearl roundabout Square where police used violent tactics to break up protests. In Cairo's Tahir Square similar scenes were seen in attempts to evict the protesters from camping out however after playing games of cat and mouse, and tiring out the cairo police force due to a lack of sleep, the entire city police force collapsed! Shame on you Mayor Rahm Emanuel, an isreali citizen.

  • being successful and a crook are two different things. bill gates is a success story. john gotti was a two bit crook.

  • Did you know that for every court appearance an officer makes they receive 3hrs of overtime, even if the case is dropped. They love you guys, keep getting arrested and wasting our court money.

  • @1braincellleft i once had a cop not show up for court. of course he gave me a fraud ticket for waving a flag so i suspect thats why.

  • but a few years ago when all those peeps were arrested at the southside irish parade, which were like 3,000 arrests, none of the cops showed up for their court cases stunning the local media. which didnt surprise me at all because alot of us here know this goes on alot in chicago.

  • while the police are arresting basically harmless protestors......... my neighborhood is being raped...robbed....mugged..beaten..vanadlaized...and infested with gang bangers.

  • Right. There are bigger problems in Chicago that require attention by the police. Other than harassing the people of this country that are fed up with the white collar corruption and want to see a change. Obviously these cops are not "Oath Keepers" Notice how none of the protests across the country other than the one in NY has really received any media coverage. Pull the blinders over the peoples eyes and control will be kept.

  • Revolutionaries need a better plan than allowing protestors to taunt then try thier best to look like victims.

You need a brave and honorable person to take responsibility for how a crowd becomes a mob becomes a riot. It takes an understanding of history.

Martin Luther King Jr and Susan B. Anthony wouldn't have a crowd yelling like this. Keep some dignity will you? I'd join if you'd do this intelligently.

  • im probably going on nov. 5 for photography and interviews

  • BBBHAHAHAAAAA!

  • True the POLITICIANS didn't take down the tents. Leaders not Politicians, Dialogue not Arrests. CEO locked up not Students.
