The Sony NEX-VG10 is glimpse into the future of camcorders. With its huge APS sensor, and interchangeable lenses, it gives the user creative control never seen before at this price point. The Camera Store's Chris Niccolls lets you know why this camera has so many people excited, and we demo some footage from our short time together.
Shot on the new Sony AX2000.

  • hi im a skateboarder.

and i will need a fisheye to do my filming.

is this easy to find for this camera?

or will i need converters that will take some of the scale down.

    cheers and very good video..thanks

  • @immitchbiatch Just grab the NEX 16mm F2.8 and add the ECF-1 fisheye converter. Great optics, and then you'll have a nice corrected wide angle as well.

  • @kitches1991 The VG10 works great with Macs. iMovie and Final Cut both support the files. I edited this video with Final Cut. I'm a Mac junky, so if we look at a camera, it's guaranteed to be Mac compatible.

  • does it come with that mic cover?

  • i see the wobbly corners like it's stabilized with deshaker in virtualdub. am I right ?

  • @ryanyu59 The VG20 has better low light than the VG10 or 60D. It also adds manual audio control. It's a very nice upgrade, and we have a video on it.

  • @Jigsaw2383 but its bigger brother shoots at 1080p at 60p its kinda give and take you give away the low light but you gain frame rates and better ergonomics

  • @ryanyu59 this Sony camera is pretty bad at high iso its so inconstant and shaky blurs all around so the 2 grand is not worth, if you have already the 6D you can add a better mic than the Sony build and also you will have money for a great lens, canon has a tremendous variety and the autofocus.... this sony camera is bad

  • @Jigsaw2383 i have a 60d but i still want to get this camera why it have a slightly bigger sensor and have better audio it more built to be a video camera and to get a 60d to act more like a video camera you need to invest to rod system which can bump the cost to more than the nex it self ^_^

  • @immitchbiatch don't waste your money on this camera buy the canon eos 6D is way better that this sony camcorder

  • Nice video! I am interested in buying a new video camera and is considering the Sony VG-10, the VG-20, and the Canon XA-10. I shoot outdoors a lot. Which would you guys recommend?

  • Thanks for all the info Jordan, what kind of audio setup do you have during this video and can you achieve the same setup with the NEX-VG10? Also, is there a plug in with this camera for booming shotgun mics?

  • @TheCameraStoreTV thanks for your help.
