I like the set up, it's very good. Though, to comment on mistaken ID, of course, no one will take that to be a Police nor EMS vehicle within eyeshot, say, across the street, but on the freeway, several car lenghts away, and in the dark, with the lights flashing in full bloom, one may do in thinking it is. So, running the "ghost siren" could help deterr any mistaken ID. Also, Chev Caprices built in the 90's are branded as Police vehicles, so again, know when to run it or not is the best option..
I really don't think they'd have a problem with the lights because of the car...I don't think people will see it and go "Oh, damnit I ran that stop sign there this ghostbuster car must be pulling me over"
i run blue lights on my car ( pa volunteer fire police officer) and ive driven thru 3 or 4 states, i guess as long as you dont play with the lights when you're on the road- they dont care
I don't think it matters if you have lights that color here in NY as long as you don't use them for unlawful purposes such as impersonating an officer.

Yes, please tell us what you did to get a permit for the lights? I know it varies by state.
