I'm 29 and started in the tool crib a year ago in aerospace. Our BP cell crew chief had interest in me and wanted me over in his area. I had my doubts that i would like it..... Not as glorious as running an NC machine. But in my shop it's dumbed down on the Nc's no cutter comp no changing anything. Let eng fix it. But in the month I have been on the BP I LOVE IT. It's me and the metal. I live for the challenge of holding a .0002 tol Nice videos. I do happen to like Kaiser though.

@psient Thanks for your kind remarks. I have been a shop teacher for 34 years full time and then part time for 11 years. I DO know taht you cannot assume anything when explaining things to kids. The devil is in the details.

@mrpete222 Or adults. I've gone from a curious hobby welder who couldn't sharpen a drill bit to being in danger of actually producing something machined, threaded, etc from my shop. MUCH of what I've learned has been from your videos and now that I have experience, I still bring up your videos on specific tasks to refresh my memory and check my setup. As a self taught student, it's the assumed knowledge that leaves me behind most of the time.

Still turnin and burnin chips. Holding .0002 tol on some parts. Took some time to get there and still learning. Now playing with long bores. One is .100 longer than the Machine will travel so we just bring the table up slowly. Wish the company would compensate me though. Still making tool crib money. But still prefer it

Mr. Pete I enjoy watching your video on machining and other project you work on. I have search you channel for a video on cylinder I.D.measuring, I believe I saw you use a snap gauge if I using the correct terminology.  Could you expand on the use of such a tool, I know you can use an inside caliper but don't think someone as inexperienced as me could get a good reading. Thanks for the fine videos TONY G.

@earnyourkeep101 Dude, get a hold of solidworks or inventor cad, and you "too" can become an engineer. More importantly make real parts that you need. Not just wait for an engineer to hand you a drawing(with missing dimensions and non-standard drill call-outs). Good luck.

I love the Criterion DBL202, 203 and 204. They are really nicely made. I have both of those size boring bars. APT is ok, but I prefer insert tooling. I belive that Criterion makes their own bars.
