Watch Steve Vai lick his bluesy guitar at 5:39 and tongue the strings at 6:07. Guest appearance @ The Nightwatchman Justice Tour benefiting PATH , April 15, 2008 at the Troubadour in West Hollywood. Jam session to benefit the homeless recorded on a Nokia N75 cell phone. Rhythm Section for the evening was from The Nightwatchman, not Steve's band. Yeah, it was too fast but Steve was still awesome! And there was too much excitement with all the celebrities on stage for the Bass & Drums to maintain such a slow tempo on their first try, so give 'em a break everyone!

Saw Tom Morello with Steve Earle in Chicago last year. He brings the same energy to his acustic stuff.

the sound at the show is always superior. some people havn't seen dr. vai live yet, but id strongly advise it! he made me trip to london more than memorable, and i have since bought my first guitar. a true inspiration. I'd like to think mr vaihimself monitors and responds himself to these little darts of worship...but its probably a worthy squire, or assistant....or dave weiner ;)

I've never heard of the Nightwatchman justice tour, but correct me if I'm wrong, I probably am, but is that Nightwatchman, as in Tom Morello?

Yes, Tom Morello and Nightwatchman Band performed and backed up many other guest Rock Celebrities.

he chose the wrong song, should have played something more commercial, like most of the guys there. Maybe die to live would have been better

He did do another uptempo song first. This one was his second number. He also jammed most of the night with the other performers on cover songs. Overall a magical evening. I'll be posting more videos when I get a chance later on.
