This loaded squat/jump squat demonstrated in this video is a good way to build both strength and power. The more power you develop in your lower body, the more speed and explosiveness you'll be able to exhibit on the playing field. An advantage to doing a strength exercise combined with a power movement is that it's gonna get your heart rate up pretty high which will help you burn more calories faster. Also, work like this will help make the muscle fibers more dense rather than bulking you up. You're gonna wanna go with weight you can push out 8 to 12 reps with for each superset. After you've completed the first set give yourself a full recovery (about 3 minutes) before you start the next round. Plyometrics are AWESOME!!! Remember if you always train your body using slow movement, then thats the only thing your body is gonna be good at. If you wanna be fast and powerful, incorporating these types of exercises in your routine will rock your metabolism and leave your legs sore for DAYS and enable you to kick more ass than EVER ;)
