My black lab is 8 years old now and still steals and rips things up, won't listen to commands and if the door is open he makes a bolt for it! Wouldn't change him for the world though!

You shouldn't train your dog with food. If you ever need your dog to do something for you during a life and death situation on the dog knows you don't have food, guess what...she wont listen.
We have a 4 year old lab that we have trained to do everything including bring you the phone and turn on the lights. He does it all and doesn't demand a thing in return other than a pat on the head and some love.

@bidcar87 It's just a training method. She associates the clicker with getting food. It's basically letting her know immediately that she's done something correctly and then it's followed up with a treat.
