It occurred to me last night that this video post was going to be my last real "skills" post of my current abilities for 2007. (There are only 4 more weeks left in 2007 and I have those video posts planned out already.) With that in mind, I decided to make it be a documentation of my progress on 5 balls.
For the most part, my posts this year have been just that: an attempt for me to note-- for my own sake-- where I stand in my juggling skills as a 37 year old guy. Making weekly videos has been a fun and, at times, grinding New Year's resolution. Still, when I get the chance every week to look at what I've accomplished (or NOT accomplished) and reflect on that progress by putting these videos out there into the digital ether, it forces me to take stock of how important juggling is in my life.
We would all be lucky to have any kind of "passion" in our lives, whatever it may be. Writing, building models, dancing, skateboarding, playing an instrument, drawing, solving puzzles, etc. If you can find that single thing that brings you joy and challenges you on a daily basis to grow and evolve across a longer span of time, you have really been blessed. Juggling is precisely that for me: a passion.
Over the last few weeks, on four separate occasions, I went out and practiced for my usual 1+ hour block with this singular objective in mind: to document my current abilities with 5 balls before 2007 came to a close. This video is the result. As I assembled all that footage last night, I was pleased for, no matter where I may stand in the continuum of juggling abilities, I can at least claim this: I've picked up a few more things since 2006.
And that's all I can ask.
Thanks for your help along the way, Everybody.
Peace,
--Chris
