Sail Yacht tied in harbor of Mali Losinj (Croatia, Adriatic Sea in the Mediterranean) is shaken by sudden storm in the usually shielded and safe harbor
Dear oh2sail -- here we have again the difference between the "objective" visual proof and the "subjective" experience... I was on that boat when the storm set in at midnight. We had to fix a second mooring and additionally a strong spring rope to avoid being pushed left (toward the other boat) by the storm blowing from right. The wind was at 28knots permanently for 36 hrs, and that was the measurement in the shielded harbor. Outside it was 40-50knots, with waves in the 7-10 foot range.
