John McDougall MD discsuses cancer growth promoter IGF-1. Blood levels of IGF-1 are raised by consuming dairy products -- and even moreso by consuming isolated soy protein. If you avoid dairy because it promotes cancer and instead you eat veggie burgers and drink lots of soymilk, you may want to rethink your dietary choices.

  • Thats nice and all, but IGF-1 is beautiful for athletes.

  • @ChrisL101 you don't have to listen to him. Do what you want. If you don't like it don't watch. Eat drink and be merry! But, the truth is the truth whether you believe it or not.

  • so being 1.9 meters high, i have to think i live much shorter than a 1.6meter guy or what :/ i think at a good diet size wont really matter

  • @ChrisL101 I didn't say don't listen, I said you don't have to listen, two different meanings. This man saved his own life with his diet. A stroke at age 18 and obesity to go along with it because of the food he ate growing from childhood. This could be a good reason to listen. But, you are free to do what you want, as I previously stated. I'm not trying to convert you. I know how good I feel on this diet, and I hope for others to feel this good also, but I don't care if you change or not.

  • @dvorakfan1 The truth is the truth, and I'm a seeker of truth. Health & wellness is my passion, as is Dr. McDougall's. It's a common interest, therefore listening to him becomes a necessity in the search for the truth. But when I hear something that doesn't sit right with me, and people listen to it blindly, I have the courage to say I disagree. I don't back away from a healthy debate, and when I see BS I call it like I see it. "Don't listen to him" closes that healthy debate.

  • So, IGF 1 is a naturaly occuring hormone in the human body. Everyone has it. With your thinking is that IGF 1 is a cancer promoter, then EVERYONE is predisposed to having cancer from birth. Sorry, but you are very wrong.

  • @ACLogikel Wow, vegan fuelled dogma at it's finest. Congrats, I now have a weeks fill of BS from one youtube comment. Dead before 50, really? Can you back that up? All his hair? Seriously? We're brong with a receding hairline now huh... Some colour left in there too huh, sure looks grey to me but whatever.... Non vegans are usually dead by 50, LOL, get a grip.

  • @ChrisL101 Doesn't look healthy? An old man of 60+, has all his hair still with some color, is at his perfect weight for his size, he's shown his own blood levels are at healthy levels, he clearly still has full cognitive function as well. Not to mention travels the country giving lectures and still works full time, clearly is still vibrant and energetic.

Yup, seems to me he is very unhealthy. Especially for being an old old man.

Non vegans are usually dead before 50 or ARE vegetables. :/

  • @ChrisL101 considering he's 60, i think he looks great....certainly better than most doctors i've seen of the same age range.

  • Question ?

Is IGF 1 can give you Bruce lee body or Batista muscle ????

  • i was drinking dairy at night and i was loosing weight with my diet :)
