@ljietuvis While the subject was the same the punchline actually involved a real religious belief and the fact that it would pay better with kids. I think there is quite a bit that is original in there.

I think your critique is the equivalent of "Hey, he mentioned relationships. That other comic talks about relationships!"

@FreonRose Of course we feel threatened, not by that which doesn't exist but by the very real religious followers who have throughout history thwarted progress and who continue to try and suppress science and push their mythology at expense of our culture.

Sept the trees didn't make a nuke that killed thousands. A scientist did. In that scenario the stick is a natural part of the tree like an arm to us. Both sides have been abused over the centuries. Religion was abused to gain power and sway the masses while science was abused to make ever more efficient weapons. Which I'd point I was trying to make. Neither side is ever going to win which is why I find it silly lol

@FreonRose We have made progress but we should be further. We have threats like climate change and people have been taught not to trust scientific thought so it is denied by a ridiculous and influential amount of people. I'm not saying its anyone's agenda to thwart progress just that such will be the natural consequence of rejection reason and rational thought in favor of superstition.
