All Star Batman & Robin Review

In which I review volume 1 of All Star Batmana nd Robin The Boy Wonder.

Oh I looked it up Miller said it will be 17 or 18 issues long. On one hand I'm excited because I really enjoy this seris. On the other hand I'm worried it will take forever ot come out.

I enjoyed this story once I realized, "this is not the gospel truth Batman, whatever happens in this book will not affect/reflect the character that we all love." I saw it as a different take on these characters, perhaps even more realistic to what these people would have to be to do the things we take for granted in the golden age. A real life Batman would have to be nuts to endanger a child by making him his sidekick.

Just a fun perspective on well known characters.

I took this as it was intended and enjoyed it, I'll buy volume 2 if it ever gets here.

HOWEVER!

Despite what Millar may say, there is no freaking way this is the same Batman we see in year one.

Prequel to Dark Knight Returns, yeah sure maybe, just maybe... But sequel to Year One?

By Batman having to drive across the world, I'm speaking of how long he would have to been driving..

Such as Clark reading the whole kidnapped Dick Grayson on a Milk Carton or Newspaper, etc.

The whole Batman asking Hal if he wanted Lemonade was funny though. Overall, the story was worth a good laugh - but if taking the story for what it was marketed as? It was terrible - Terrible storytelling. Pretty pictures can't save it.
