Last song at the Wonder Bar, Asbury Park, NJ

The Wonder Bar, at 5th & Ocean in Asbury Park, New Jersey, officially closed the night of September 30th, 2007. (It has since reopened under new ownership, but Debbie & Lance are still there!:) This is a record of the last song played there, in the Leopard Lounge, at 4:10 AM, October 1st. At the piano, left to right, are Rick Barry (Paperback Radio), Ben Feld (Turtle Soup), and Lou Montesano (Status Green). Thank you, Lance & Debbie, Patrick, Rocky, and Pat! Thanks, everybody! We will miss this special place.

You guys had a bunch of fun! I just rediscovered the WB 2 years ago. I had my first legal drink there over 30 years ago. It still held its place in AP lore... Never tried to be as commercial as the Pony, just an honest, friendly spot that kept some of the life in AP through, what I hope, was the Nadir of this great city. Let's hope the corporate clowns don't over commercialize the place.
