Backed with the sometimes more popular 'Afternoon of the Rhino' on some pressings this was the "A-side" such as here on "Soul Beat" and on some pressings this was the "B-side" such as on "Warner Brothers"
"Bubblegum Breakthrough" may well have been played at the Torch, in 1973, as it definitely was at the Catacombs. As mentioned above, it was a Warner Bros. 7 Arts 45. "Afternoon of The Rhino" was originally an ALBUM TRACK only and was not played until 1974, rapidly becoming the biggest instrumental in the country. UK Warner Bros later released the two popular Mike Post Northern tracks back-to-back on 45, C.1975. The 'Soul Beat' label shown above is a bootleg from C.1974.
no problems mate it now saves me the trouble of looking through a shit load of track listings :) if i remember rightly the only DJ there at the time that ever played this track was Keith Minshall i bought the record from him when he worked at bews in burslem a long time ago.. A Warner Bro's Seven Arts Demo... K.T.F.
Sincere and major apologies I was wrong Bubblegum breakthrough WAS released in 1969 and not just on the Mike post album so would have been played teach me to keep my gob shut PS I was also there but didn't remember this till later but at 54 yr old your mind plays tricks all the best
no problems bud at all, having a word with a couple of friends who also went to the torch they also think that it was played there as well....one thing i do know for sure afternoon of the Rhino was not ever played there which kinda fits in with what you are saying...still all good, K.T.F.
