Black Triangular UFO over Southampton, England (1/6/08) - RAW and STABILIZED Enhancement

Hello everyone. This very brief presentation takes a closer look at a rather interesting bit of UFO footage that was shot in Southampton, England back in 2008. The raw footage was originally uploaded to Youtube back in 2008, and it was recently brought to my attention by a fellow researcher who suggested I might want to take a look at it. In this presentation, I first show a 29-second segment of the original raw footage, followed by a stabilized enhancement of the scene when the camera was zoomed in on the UFO. Because the footage was shot from a moving vehicle, the raw clip suffers from some serious camera instability issues, so I decided to stabilize the scene and cancel the camera shake by targeting and locking onto the UFO in the sky. The particular stabilization enhancement I employed here corrects for the camera shake along the X and Y-axises only (up/down and left/right). No Z-axis (rotational) corrections were employed. Those Z-axis corrections were ignored in order to allow for a cleaner look at the obvious counter-clockwise rotational behavior that this triangular UFO was exhibiting.

I don't agree that the object was added afterwards.

For one I don't think that the pixels around the object necessarily tell us that, it could be a side effect due to the stabilization and the poor quality of the original footage. But above all I find it "believable" because of the ghosting on the object at the same time where you get ghosting on the lighting pole. Oh, and I almost forgot... it's a LunaCognita production so I bet that if it's a hoax it's not that easily spotted as you suggest.

@ nerophyte - I agree. The original source file was a rather low-res clip to begin with, & has unavoidably been subjected to significant digital compression multiple times, plus up-res'ing, stabilizing & frame-rate/resampling changes. The pixel size in & around the triangle is NOT different. There is however significant compression artifacting we can see around the UFO - as is entirely expected given those above facts. That should not be taken as evidence of compositing IMO.

Hi LunaCognita, We're spoken previously - I remember this one, this object /is/ in the footage, however it was also in the local news here (I live in Southampton) and a bunch of students admitted it was a solar baloon (made from taped together bin liners) :) They filled it up with a hairdryer in the back garden apparently...

Its real. The proof is in the rate at which it turns. I saw one up close in 1994 in the US so these have been around a bit.
