  • @pplschmpion i bet you $100 your car's not powered by jet fuel.

  • @freefall321 F-16s have an arresting hook. I know because I was an F-16 Crew Chief at Shaw AFB. They are used for emergencies and during engine-runs (like this one). Almost all Air Force runways have 1-2 barrier cables at each end. In-case of brake failure or an aborted take-off, the arresting hook is lowered pneumatically by 3000psi to catch the barrier cable.

  • im blue abbe di abbe die aab die aabe daai aabe die aab dai

  • Blue light saber :D

  • @ApacheCobra I' ve heard a an eurofighter and a harrier land pretty close to me and that was what I would call inconceivably loud - your chest vibrates, so this is probably 2/3 times more of everything.

  • fake!!!!

  • @Mylitla Care to go into some detail? ;)

  • Poor camcorder was totally overwhelmed by both the sound and light. The sound of a burner run at that range is beyond description, it must be experienced.

  • @freefall321 They fit one for this purpose on the ground. Some aircraft like the tornado have one even though they are not carrier based. Seen one used at an airshow 4 years ago when a german tornado lost all hydraulics/brakes. They put the hook down and it grabs the arresting wires at the end of most military runways.

  • What arresting hook!!!! It's an Air Force aircraft they don't have an arresting hooks on them only Navy and Marine Corps aircraft have them. The plane is chained down to the ramp so it san't move. When I was in the Corps we would chain and block the plane to the ramp to make sure that it couldn't move during a high power test.
