  • My FCP project has only one 755 MB video in it, 21 MB audio file, and the project file is only 75 KB. So please tell me why I can't render or export it? The video is less than 2 minutes in length and I have no other projects or applications open...HELP! I can't export this stupid video!!

  • @joejumps4fun There are several things to check:

    1. Make sure you have PLENTY of free space on the hard disk you are exporting to

    2. Make sure you have PLENTY of free space on your scratch disks

    3. Make sure all the green visibility buttons on the left side of the Timeline are glowing green

  • Hi Larry, I'm still getting the error message, It say im out of memory, whenever I'm trying to do a multiclip edit. I'm using FCP7, all the files were different, but i've changed them to match using MPEG streamclip, could that be a problem? I honestly don't know what to do ? :(

  • @AZnathan101 Out of Memory is a RAM issue. Out of Storage is a hard disk issue. If it says out of memory, remove as many unneeded sequences and clips as you can from the Browser to free up RAM.

  • I'm getting a memory error when I try to render files in a really small project though. It's 400KB and there are only a handful of clips in the browser. What's up with that?

  • @SmokyBanjo First, I need to know which version of FCP and which version of the OS. Second, memory errors can be caused by a wide variety of problems. Best to call Apple.

  • @LarryJordanFCP #1: check! #2: check! (even deleted old scratch media), #3: check! I found out the solution but still don't know what caused the problem--I had a still in there that I created from an 18 megapixel jpeg, which was using luma key & color filters, so I made a FCP still via SHIFT+N and replaced the jpeg with that FCP still--problem solved! Thanks for your reply; now following you on Twitter :)

  • I had a problem with ERROR OUT OF MEMORY but I also still has my computer hooked to my camera and in the log and transfer process. When I disconnected the camera, the out of memory disappeared and I was able to continue rendering.

  • @LarryJordanFCP Oh thank you for getting back to Larry but I resolved the issue. It seemed that changing the location of where my render files saved fixed the problem. I'm not sure what it was set to before.

  • @TheRealSTONEYXL Happy to help. Cheers, Larry
