This variant was arranged and recorded by Denis Ryan on his 2005 CD, Let Me Fish Off Cape St. Mary's, Denis Ryan's third solo album since leaving Ryan's Fancy. The album was recorded in Ireland, in Torbay, Newfoundland at Dermot O'Reilly's Piper Stock Productions, and in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The CD contains some of Denis' favourite songs.

Right - written by John Conolly from Lincolnshire I believe.
I have always enjoyed this song.

A fine English song!

A very rare recording !!
The last time I heard this was 'Live' at the Strand Lounge, Avalon Mall in St. John's Nfld. It was probably the late seventies.
Ryan's Fancy was the "best around" back in those days and it is great to hear them again. Keep 'em coming "oldirishladdie"

Thanks oldirishladdie. I am surprised you had this song by Ryan's Fancy. Hats off to you for answering my request.

Make no mistake about it, that is Dennis Ryan's voice. Ryan's Fancy was an excellent group all around but I found that one of their outstanding features was their vocal harmonizing. Good memories revived on this one.

This is Ryan's Fancy.
They have been out of print for over 20 years. It is great to learn that someone has such a rare collection.

Is this really Ryan's Fancy?
It sure sounds like them.
I checked Ryan's Fancy website and there is no listing for this song.
This was a solo recording by Dennis Ryan and is not listed as a Ryan's Fancy recording. I am still trying to put a year on it.
