UWM Geologist John Isbell embarked on his 16th Antarctica adventure in fall 2012. Here, he describes life on Earth's most unforgiving continent: living in tents, no heat, no break from daylight -- no comparison to Wisconsin winters. Isbell also explains why his work can only take place on this frigid landscape, and what the research means to the rest of the world.
