nice ship! very stealth, i am quite sure it has a low radar signature.. most destroyers will have a very difficult time detecting that ship with radar.

@mrcharles007 The height of the sampson radar is also designed to give maximum 'over the horizon' capacity; the higher your radar, the further over the skyline you can see surface and air contacts. That's the principle.

@sw5mister Good. I bet the navy really misses you, because you seem to have nothing but nice things to say about it. If SHEFFIELD had ratings like you on board, they were fucked the second they left the wall.

FYI - the BOI stated that early C2C decisions and adequate DC could have saved the ship, plus a soft kill versus hard kill could also have done the trick, but no chaff was launched. CIWS was an afterthought back up for the fleet as part of layered defence. So kit NOT the only issue.

@trenthouse4life errr it was down to kit or lack of it. Thats why all the type 42s got phallanx and the carriers were later fitted with the same or goalkeeper. Why dont you look at the board of inquiry before making your stupid ill informed comments. I didnt say i mistrusted the navy or the mod but that you cant believe everything they tell you.
