I am Catholic, attended Catholic schools my whole life.. I was taught creationism and evolutionism in school.. but if I were running for President, I would understand that politics is not the place for my religion and vice versa. But that's just how America is.

While I understand what you're saying, you have to understand that most Americans are religious, the largest of that being some sort of Christian. The chances of having a President here who isn't a Christian are okay, however with most of the people being Christian, a lot of them wouldn't feel comfortable choosing a candidate who wasn't. Not saying I advocate this behavior.. that's just how it goes.
