1st of 5+ in this series, I cover most of the TOOLS I use, along with their application, as well as part 1 of how I personally shade, blend, render and determine proper tonal values in a drawing.

  • what do you use to make the shadows so black? could you send a link please?

  • @Beccaaxx1 I have a tip guide explaining it. Sent it in message, can't post url here

  • Is there a specific name for the rubber chisel? I have been having a hard time finding one.

  • @sstacie619 They are called color shapers. I sent you a link ;)

  • What is the largest artwork you've done, in terms of measure/size?

  • @aROBOTgirl02 I stay with 6 inch faces - hairline to chin, or 3 inches from eyes to chin. It's the best compromise for me in terms of least amount of time vs greatest amount of details. I use a ruler to measure key distances between features, but it's all free hand

  • @DrPencil777 Do you draw any construction lines or outline of the head before you start adding any detail, or do you just start to draw the image from the beginning hoping for the best results? I hope that makes sense... Thanks!
