News 12 report. Oct 19, 2009.
Republican candidate Chris Christie says if he is elected governor, the rules would be eased a bit for business travel when it comes to top government workers. And a new news report says we - the taxpayers - would be footing that bill.
Christie was quoted as saying he'll let his cabinet book more expensive hotel rooms if cheaper ones with government rates are not available. Christie has been taking some heat himself for staying in some of the country's most luxurious hotels on business trips when he was US Attorney for New Jersey.
Many say the irony is that Christie is campaigning on a platform of cutting government waste. We hit the streets to find out what New Jersey taxpayers have to say about this.
