And while lost had a lot of mystery (some of wich still unasweared), BSG was straightfoward. Lost ending was brutal. They had to speed it up unfortantly but still amazing.

I think that Lost is more into the Human being as an invidual. That's why it was the purgatory.., Lost is my favourite but BSG comes right after with only e 0.01 score difference. The main reason is the fact tha Lost made you feel much more connected to the characters. Because they've told us individual stories of everyone. You felt like you knew them. Galactica is just the thing "Kick those cylon's ass's" and after a while you were just "this could be real, the Human race and God plans"

Lost ftw!

Yeah, that was just silly to call it abrupt. Both had really good endings. Both had their controversial aspects.
-
Yeah, after having thought through it more, I really have to agree with you that they were generally more complex.
-
@GoFeri that was...quick.
I disagree. But we don't need to discuss that, opinions and all.
lol can't stress enough how fast you responded to that.
-
@GoFeri Okay, maybe not abrupt. Bad choice of wards. It was a shit ending.

@affable83 How did Battlestar Galactica not take the easy way out?
And while we're at it, how did LOST take the easy way out?

Having seen both shows, one stand-out difference between the two is that while BSG can deliver some EPIC moments (some of the best), the show struggles to really take advantage of most of them, and what was once riveting material (eg. gina) gets wasted.
I also can't stress how the reveal of the final five cylons completely undid the resonance of a lot of BSG's most powerful storylines.

@GoFeri LOST had an "abrupt ending"? Really?
BSG strays too far from the current state of the world? REALLY? I wonder why a retrospective of the series was made at United Nations, then. BSG is easily one of the most sociopolitically/religiously relevant shows in recent times. Lost, while great, is far more fluff. A very entertaining, imaginative jigsaw puzzle but BSG actually challenges the very basis of your being. It's by far more complex and morally ambiguous and adult than Lost.
