Restored "double Woolf compound beam engine." Originally used to pump up to ten million litres per hour into the Auckland water supply. Flywheel 16.25 tonnes x 6.25mtrs diameter. Can be seen steaming every Thursday at Motat Auckland New Zealand.

  • If I may correct you on the amount of water the engine can pump; The two pumps lifted 640 liters per revolution of the flywheel x 15rpm x 60 minutes = 1,664,525 liters per hour. (366,144 imperial gallons in the old money).
