MetaVision decision support: Example of improved patient care

Dr. Eran Segal of Sheba Medical Center, Israel, talks about how they use Event Manager, MetaVision's power decision support tool, to improve patient care. They utilize an event which notifies clinicians of a reduction in saturation of greater than 6% which is sustained for more than 5 minutes. This was triggered, and led to a diagnostic attempt for the patient's hypoxemia. This case demonstrates the potential user of monitors of subtle changes in physiological parameters as an important indicator of significant clinical situations.
