Damn I miss my Concours. Sucks the one I got was a POS. I'd buy another, provided a LONG test drive.

@72ford360 Yep, fair enough.

Have you learned to shift the thing since ?

OMG the distortion through the windshield is TERRIBLE!

I am thinking of picking up a 1999 concours with 37000 miles. Got guy down to 2800 for it. I think it shoudl cost less for hte mileage. Do you have any comments on reliability> How is the fuel economy?
I am considering getting a new one but it would put me under too much stress paying for it.

@Pilot9r They are great bikes. I've owned 3 of them. Concours.org is the#1 site for these bikes. Any and everything you would ever need to know, you can find on there. All the guys are great about helping Newbies, and explaining technical stuff. I got around 30-35 mpg on mine, but I was always in the throttle. This isn't exactly the best MPG bike. Large fairings, and windshield, as well as saddlebags sticking out plus it's a heavy touring bike, BUT it can still get down in the curves.

Rider, not the bike that's going slow, not everyone wants to ride quickly.

@nzroadrider I understand that, and I let faster riders pass. He would not let me pass, that's the point of the title....I was stuck behind him. I don't care if he wanted to ride 10MPH, just let me on by and I'll leave you to it.

If you really know how to ride a larger ST, you would know to keep it in higher RPM, use throttle control for accel and decel, no brakes! Take a riding course then comment!
